About this directory

Garage Door Contractors is a free directory of garage door repair, replacement and installation companies in the United States. It exists to help homeowners find and check a local contractor before they hire one.

Where the listings come from

Every listing on this site comes from a public source, and each one names its source. Two kinds of source are used:

• State contractor license registers. Several states publish their full license register as a public record. Where that register exists, we take the company name, address, license number, license status and expiration date directly from it. Those listings carry a Licensed badge and show the issuing authority.
• OpenStreetMap. For states with no searchable trade register, we use business records contributed to OpenStreetMap, available under the Open Database License.

We currently list 8,841 companies across 4,807 cities, of which 349 have a license number on record.

How listings are ordered

Listings are ordered by how complete their public record is: companies with a verified license number, a street address and published contact details appear above companies with sparse records. We do not rank companies by quality, reviews or reputation, and we do not accept payment to change the order of the directory listings.

Separately from the directory listings, each page carries one clearly marked Sponsored block at the top. That block is advertising, it is paid for, and it is labeled as such on every page it appears on. It is not part of the ranked directory below it.

What we are not

Garage Door Contractors does not perform garage door work, does not employ technicians, and does not dispatch or supervise any contractor. We are not affiliated with any company listed. We do not verify insurance, workmanship, pricing or current trading status, and a listing here is not a recommendation.

Corrections

If a listing is wrong, out of date, or you want your company removed, email [email protected] and we will act on it. License data is reproduced as the issuing authority published it — if a license record itself is wrong, it needs to be corrected at the source, and we will pick up the change on the next refresh.
